Where did they work in the outside world?: For most inmates in West Virginia jails,; the answer is nowhere

PRE-PRISON WORK The Daily Mail asked the agency to compile theoccupations of 53,729 inmates it has put into its computer systemsince January 2003. Among the findings: * 1,059 worked forrestaurants. * 905 worked in construction, repair or landscaping. *641 were self-employed * 497 worked for convenience stores, retailshops or gas stations. * 472 worked in the automotive industry. * 373worked for the federal, state, county or local government. * 145worked in the health care field. * 71 were in the military. Mostinmates, though, are unemployed. Of the inmates reviewed, 43,608didnt report a job or occupation.
