Vic; New Port Phillip Bay ferry

A second ferry has been added to the service that links opposite sides of Melbourne's
Port Phillip Bay.

The new $12 million MV Sorrento has been launched by Deputy Premier JOHN THWAITES at Queenscliff.

The ferry can carry 160 vehicles and 1,400 passengers on the hourly journey between
Queenscliff and Sorrento.

It joins the MV Queenscliff, which carries 110,000 vehicles and 600,000 passengers a year.

Mr THWAITES says the Bays and Bellarine Peninsula area attracts nearly $825 million
a year in tourism revenue.
