Brest beats Lens 4-1 in French league

PARIS (AP) — Bruno Grougi scored two goals and made the other two as Brest beat Lens 4-1 in a rearranged French league game to go level on points with leader Marseille on Tuesday.

Romain Poyet and Paul Baysse scored Brest's other goals while Brazilian striker Eduardo pulled one back for 19th-placed Lens.

The teams first met Saturday but the match was abandoned at halftime because of heavy snow.

Defending champion Marseille thrashed Montpellier 4-0 on Saturday to top the standings on goal difference with 25 points from 14 games.

Lille and Brest also have 25 points but have played one more match than Marseille, which hosts Rennes at Stade Velodrome on Wednesday in a …
